Zelus Material Handling

We specialize in innovative solutions.

Zelus Material Handling was established in May 2002, by four partners, each having many years of experience in the crane industry. They had a few simple goals in mind.

  • To provide our customers with the skills and dedication needed for consistent quality equipment and service.
  • To establish the fair work environment to build a strong working relationship with our employees.
  • To provide a strong service team with skilled technicians to help our customers with a safe, reliable, efficient work place.
At Zelus, we believe that keeping our focus on these goals will earn your trust and allow us to establish a long-term relationship to meet all your material handling needs.
Zelus specializes in designing, manufacturing and servicing of overhead cranes, monorails, hoists and jib cranes of all capacities. Through our customized inspection programs, preventative maintenance and operator training, you can ensure the safety of your employees and reduce repair costs. As a master distributor for R&M Material Handling, CanStahl and GH Cranes, we have a vast stock of replacement parts on hand, reducing potential down time. We also offer a complete selection of safety equipment and accessories for fall protection systems and install and service overhead doors and dock levelers.
In July 2012, Zelus was acquired by Jason and Bryan White. The White Family privately owns Steelway Building Systems, Steelway Material Handling (SMH) and ExSteel Building Components. Since 1976, Steelway has been in the business of manufacturing the highest quality steel buildings, building components and overhead cranes across Canada and around the world.
Glen White, Steelway's founder, started manufacturing overhead cranes in 2001 with the addition of the SMH division. The SMH brand has grown and is a significant part of Steelway's business today. With hundreds of cranes in the marketplace and no team in place to service them, Steelway was faced with two options - grow a service group from the ground up or acquire an existing service business. After identifying this need, it was decided to pursue the acquisition of an established, reputable company. After meeting with the partners of Zelus Material Handling, the synergies between the organizations were quickly realized.

Together, Zelus Material Handling and SMH provide unparalleled manufacturing, installation, service, inspection and preventative maintenance programs for overhead cranes.
